This race is one of the few races in Idaho that qualify for entry into the National Championships held in Sun Valley. The 2012 Spider race features a fun, easy, 9 mile lap course with rolling terrain and terrific spectator viewing. The course includes the imfamous "Skateboard Park" descent, a twisting, turning tunnel of thrills. There is a new climbing section near the end of the course, so you might want to inspect? This section winds around the front of the old "fill yer pants drop".

LOCATION - Hemingway Butte OHV Area, 17 miles southwest of Nampa, Idaho, off Hwy 45, (Reynolds Creek Rd.)
FREE, dry camping on-site. We encourge folks to camp in dry locations around the race course. Come celebrate the PREMIERE spring opener for Idaho XC Mountain biking.

EXPO opens at 9am. Medical service provided by OWYHEE Volunteer Search and Rescue.

Trail runners (1 or 2 lap, 9mi. or 10K) at 9am

CAT 3 Beginners (1 lap) and Trailblazers (1/4 lap) - 12:40 pm
CAT 2 Sports (2 laps) - 12:35pm
CAT 1 Experts (3 laps) - 12:30pm
Pros (3 laps) - 12:29pm
Kids under 10 race (free) - 3:15pm.

Special note to SINGLE-SPEEDs: you will be racing for 3 laps with the PRO/CAT 1. If you can't hang for 28 miles, sign up for your age group in CAT 2 or CAT 3.
AWARDS and PRIZE give-away to follow. We'll be serving FREE spirited beverages, after the race is over. We typically serve some kind of food for free, but bring a sandwich, cause the C-store is about 5 miles away!

These are detailed directions to the Spider:
Take 2nd Nampa exit (whether coming from east or west) Go south over freeway to Garriety, turn right go under railroad tracks, then turn left, and then right on 12th Avenue South. Follow SIGNS toward Murphy & Melba out past hospital, 15 miles after leaving Nampa the road will drop down to the Snake River, where you will cross over the bridge BEARING to the left at the "Y" towards Murphy 3/4 of a mile after crossing river, turn right on Reynolds Creek Road - go 1.5 miles (keep driving thru stinky Dairy Farm) and event is on the right-hand-side at the Hemingway ORV area.
