Big Nasty Adventure Mud Run and XC race[Saturday & Sunday, May 18-19] POSTPONED TIL 2014
Time: Saturday, 11:00 am mud run, (3miles), Sunday, 11am mountain bike XC, (6 mile loop) Cost: $20-30 (includes event food and beverages, plus a T-shirt!)
Course: Tom Pence Ranch, on Big Willow Road.
Big Nasty Adventure Mud Run (Saturday) - 5K, (Sunday) Brand new MTB XC race course, (6-mile loop), located near New Plymouth about an hour from Boise. Held at the beautiful, 1,000 acre Pence Ranch, the 3-mile mud run follows the river through woods and grasslands, crossing Big Willow Creek several times before heading to the top of the Big Nasty Hillclimb and then descending down a tight trail in a downhill canyon. Sunday’s 6-mile mountain bike loop uses some of the same bottom section as the mud run, then heads up into the hills for lots of rolling climbs and descents. It will be a very, very unique enjoyable course for riders of all abilities, with no huge climbs or descents.
